Saint Asonia and Aaron Lewis at Six Strings Bar and Grille, Foxboro, MA – December 20, 2019

Aaron Lewis and Saint Asonia performed an acoustic benefit, raising funds for Boston Children’s Hospital. The event was put on by WAAF, and Mistress Carrie was there as MC for the night.

Adam Gontier

The show started off with a solo performance from Saint Asonia frontman Adam Gontier. If you’re not familiar with Saint Asonia, you may also know him as the original singer for Three Days Grace. Naturally, Three Days Grace material was included in his performance. A highlight of his set, for me, was his performance of “I Don’t Care,” the song he sang with the Finnish heavy metal cello quartet Apocalyptica. I’ve seen Apocalyptica perform it with other singers, but I never expected to have a chance to see Adam sing it live!

Saint Asonia

Saint Asonia is a collaboration between Gontier and Staind guitarist Mike Mushok. The set contained many of their originals, as well as a few more Three Days Grace songs.

Aaron Lewis

Staind frontman Aaron Lewis played a set consisting of some of his country solo material, and some of the lighter songs from the Staind catalog. Since, as I mentioned, Staind guitarist Mike Mushok was already here with Saint Asonia, he did come out and join Aaron for a couple of songs at the end.
