Dispatch
The Comcast Center
Mansfield, MA
June 8, 2013

Indie rock jam band Dispatch just released a new live double album, Ain’t No Trip to Cleveland Vol. 1. Vol. 1, a follow up to Circles Around the Sun, their first studio album in more than decade.

Dispatch reunited in 2011, after a nearly ten year hiatus. The Boston based group seemed amazed to be headlining the Comcast Center, which they kept referring to as its original name, Great Woods, and shared memories of jumping the fence to sneak into shows there when they were younger. Thanks to their local origins, Dispatch had a very dedicated, energetic crowd.

Dispatch is a band that really likes to have fun on stage. The members of the band would on occasion switch instruments, showing that they’re all very versatile musicians. During the encore, they invited opening act Guster out to joining them for “Cut It Ya Match It.”

Through the rest of June, they’re heading west, playing various theaters and festivals, but this night in Mansfield was certainly a very special show for them!
