In 1989, Ringo Starr took a break from his solo career, and launched Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band. Over the years, there’s been many incarnations of the musicians he’s brought on the road with him. Last year brought the 14th edition of his All Starr Band to the Boch Center in Boston. This lineup included Steve Lukather, from Toto, on guitar, Colin Hay, from Men at Work, on guitar, Gregg Rollie, from Journey and Santana, on Keyboards, Graham Gouldman, from 10cc, on bass, Warren Ham on saxophone and other various instruments, and of course Greg Bissonette on drums. Some of the musician’s names may not mean anything to you, but I guarantee you know their songs!<\/p>\n

Ringo Starr and Steve Lukather<\/p><\/div>Sprinkled throughout the 24 song set were some of Ringo’s classic Beatles songs, like “Yellow Submarine” and “With a Little Help From My Friends,” as well as his solo hits like “Photograph.” The show is not just about Ringo’s career, however, and songs from all the individual artist’s careers were played. We heard huge classic rock hits like “Africa” and “Rosana” by Toto, “Down Under” and “Who Can it Be Now?” by Men at Work, “Black Magic Woman” by Santana, and “I’m Not In Love” by 10cc.<\/p>\n

Ringo can always be counted on to find a great group of musicians for his All Starr Band, but this year is one of his finest lineups yet. The men on stage wrote some of the biggest songs of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, and together they made for a great night of music. <\/p>\n
