Rock is alive and better than ever! On a rainy Saturday night, Mammoth WVH and Dirty Honey took over Big Night Live for an evening full of raw energy on their Boston stop of the Young Guns co-headlining tour.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the hectic atmosphere of rain and traffic around the venue, fans waited patiently in line to escape the chaos. The room was jam packed, with a diverse crowd of all generations, and all styles. From black t-shirts to faux fur coats, it was the perfect mixture of classic and modern rock, which is the sweet spot where both Dirty Honey and Mammoth WVH live. A fresh, modern sound that evokes pure, old school rock & roll.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIRTY HONEY<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The evening started off with L.A. born Dirty Honey, coming in with a vintage vibe that perfectly matches their unique brand of sexy blues rock. The energy was high right out of the gate, with \u201cGypsy\u201d and \u201cBreak You\u201d, including a hilarious moment where singer Marc LaBelle unintentionally threw his mic into the crowd, who promptly saved it and returned it. The dynamic between the audience and the band was electric, and their success was clear on their first show in Boston. Mesmerized and engaged through smoother tunes such as \u201cHeartbreaker\u201d and \u201cAnother Last Time\u201d, the audience also was treated to a cover of Aerosmith\u2019s \u201cLast Child\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mammoth WVH<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Excitement was at a boiling point after Dirty Honey\u2019s wild performance. With barely any room to move, it was time for Mammoth WVH to take the stage. With the band\u2019s logo lighting up the entire room, Wolfgang Van Halen quietly walked out to a screaming crowd. They would then erupt into the self titled \u201cMammoth\u201d, with a heavier, aggressive sound. The audience was loving every second, throwing hands and drinks in the air, in a clear display of admiration for the California band. Wolfgang would then go behind the keyboards for \u201cEpiphany\u201d, then back to the front with \u201cHorribly Right\u201d and \u201c You\u2019ll Be The One\u201d, some of the many tracks played from their debut album, Mammoth WVH. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/em>One of the highlights of the evening was an emotional tribute to Foo Fighters\u2019 Taylor Hawkins, who tragically passed away on Friday night. Wolfgang gave a short yet heartfelt speech about Hawkins\u2019 influence on himself and the band, and played a powerful cover of \u201cMy Hero\u201d, followed by the entire venue chanting \u201dTaylor\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bands like Mammoth WVH and Dirty Honey are here to make sure you don\u2019t forget that rock & roll never dies. Wolfgang Van Halen stands on his own as a musician with a strong band at his side, effortlessly carrying on his father\u2019s legacy, while Dirty Honey\u2019s rowdy sounds and stage presence are seductive and exciting.
