British duo Tears for Fears rocked the Leader Bank Pavilion on the Boston stop of their The Tipping Point Tour, out on the road with special guest, Garbage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans started showing up early and quickly packed the waterfront venue, just in time to catch Garbage’s early opening set. The American band, led by singer Shirley Manson, kicked off the evening with some newer sounds, including the title track of their latest album, No Gods No Masters, <\/em>blending in seamlessly with their earlier hits. Even though the set was filled with fan favorites like \u201cI\u2019m Only Happy When It Rains\u201d and \u201cSpecial\u201d, the band would play slightly different versions, keeping the set fresh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of the evening was Manson\u2019s stunning vocals with a chilling rendition of their theme song from James Bond\u2019s The World Is Not Enough<\/em>. The singer also got candid with the audience after a minor mishap during the intro of \u201cCherry Lips (Go Baby Go)\u201d. Fans cheered as the band started the song over, a more electronic version than the original. Garbage closed the set with a bang, featuring the iconic \u201cPush It\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tears for Fears<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The energy was high after Garbage\u2019s powerful set, and fans were ready for Tears for Fears to take the stage. With a breathtaking ring of lights, the band kicked off with a couple of tracks for their latest album The Tipping Point, <\/em>before driving the audience wild with the first big hit of the night, \u201cEverybody Wants To Rule The World\u201d. The set would feature several songs from the duo\u2019s triumphant return to the studio, the first to be released since 2004\u2019s Everybody Loves a Happy Ending, <\/em>as well as classic tracks like \u201cMad World\u201d and \u201c Sowing The Seeds of Love\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band would often share humorous stories with the audience. Early on, Roland Orzabal spoke about his recent nuptials, and how some family members were in attendance. He jokingly said he needed to impress the in-laws, and judging by the rest of the show, this was guaranteed. The iconic \u201cShout\u201d was the choice to close the evening strong and blow fans away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After nearly 4 decades, Tears for Fears still sounds massive and modern, making the tour less about the nostalgia, and more about the music. Make sure to experience The Tipping Point <\/em>in a city near you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
