Earlier in July, the Seaport District in Boston hosted a fun ska-influenced, Irish punk rock show with Flogging Molly and The Interrupters, featuring special guests The Skints and Tiger Army. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Skints<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The night opened with the rocksteady band the Skints from London, England. They had a very laid back style and to warm people up for more music. Led by Marcia Richards who is a multi talent on keys, vocals, and saxophone, vocal duties were also shared by guitarist Joshua Waters Rudge. I enjoyed the drummer being up front closer to the fans and it felt like the whole band had equal spotlight on themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiger Army<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Next up was Tiger Army, who have been doing the rockabilly\/psychobilly genre since the late 90s. It was really fun to see them, as it\u2019s been years since I had even thought about them. They put on a really fast paced entertaining show. Usually any band that includes a stand up bass is really fun to watch.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Interrupters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After Tiger Army, Los Angeles\u2019 The Interrupters took the stage, they\u2019re a newer big band on the scene, signed to Hellcat\/Epitaph records in 2014. I feel like every time I see this band (they have had smaller headlining shows, and toured with Green Day as part of the Hella Mega Tour in 2021) they get better and better. This was the best time I had seen them, and I certainly hope it\u2019s not the last time. They do have that classic pop-punk ska influenced positive sound. They have incredible energy, and front woman Aimee Interrupter has a huge amount of charisma and charm.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flogging Molly<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To cap off the night was Irish-American band Flogging Molly. Having been around since the late 90’s, I believe they are the epitome of Irish-punk music. Equipped with a fiddler, accordion, and banjo, they have their own brand of Celtic music, with an energetic punk vibe thrown in. Frontman Dave King was recovering from a covid infection, however he said due to steroids and Guinness [beer], he was good to go. If he hadn\u2019t said anything, I wouldn\u2019t have noticed he was ill.\u00a0
They put on a great show as per usual, playing a few songs from most of their albums including 3 from their new album coming out this September, titled Anthem.<\/em> They are always a fun band to catch live and this time was no different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
