Back in June, Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band were scheduled to come to the Providence Performing Arts Center. The day before, however, the band announced a handful of dates were being rescheduled due to covid infections in the band. The rescheduled day finally came, and a show that many people had bought tickets for back in 2019 finally came to fruition!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The legendary drummer of The Beatles has been running various incarnations of the All Starr Band for more than 30 years now. The current lineup includes Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, legendary keyboardist Edgar Winter, Colin Hay of Men at Work, Hamish Stuart of The Average White Band, drummer Greg Bissonette, and Toto accompanying musician Warren Ham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’ve never seen the All Starr Band, throughout the night they take turns performing songs from each of the members’ catalogs. Ringo-fronted Beatles classics like “Yellow Submarine” and “With a Little Help From my Friends” are highlights, while Edgar Winter Group songs like “Free Ride” and “Frankenstein,” Toto hits like “Africa” and “Rosanna,” and Men at Work hits like “Down Under” really give the night a well-rounded collection of classic rock. Of course Ringo’s solo material like “It Don’t Come Easy” and “Photograph” show up as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One special treat on this tour is this is the first time Ringo has ever performed the Beatles tune “Octopus’s Garden” live, which fans went wild for. When Ringo is not fronting a song, you’ll often find him sitting behind a drum kit, as the appropriate member sings their song. The All Starr band has an undeniably strong catalog of material between all the members, and delivers a night full of music that audiences love to sing along to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
