Panic! at the Disco just released their seventh album, Viva Las Vengeance.<\/em> Returning to Boston for the first time in four years, they were welcomed by a full house at TD Garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jake Wesley Rogers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Missouri based singer-songwriter Jake Wesley Rogers kicked off the night. Coming out with a look that blended the style of Elton John with David Bowie, Jake had the stage presence to backup the look. As he gave the audience rock star poses, his singing and his piano playing captivated the fans who arrived early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MARINA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Up next was Welsh singer MARINA. She gave an amazing performance that felt very operatic. After releasing music for more than 15 years, MARINA has recently parted ways with her record label, and now intends to continue on as an independent artist. Her performance really felt like she’s on the verge of something big, and it won’t be a surprise if the next time she comes around, she’s headlining big shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Panic! at the Disco<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Opening with “Say Amen (Saturday Night),” Panic came out flying. Starting the show off with some of their more recent hits, like “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” and “Miss Jackson,” the band was tight, and the crowd was into it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the better part of a decade, Panic! at the Disco has become the solo project of frontman Brendon Urie. Viva Las Vengeance <\/em>is the third album in the era of his solo material. Seven songs into the set, the band then played the entire 12-song album, from front to back. This was a bit of a buzzkill, especially for fans of the band’s older material. Once they got through the album, older hits like “Nine in the Afternoon” and “I Write Sins not Tragedies” got the crowd going wild. On the bright side, Panic! did play a very respectable 25-song setlist, allowing them to fit plenty of hits, even with an entire album performance… You just had to be patient to get to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you love Viva Las Vengeance,<\/em> then you will absolutely love this show. If you aren’t a fan of the album, there’s no denying Brendon’s prowess on stage, and you’ll still find a show with lots of hits and a great production, that will leave you satisfied at the end of the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
