Danielle Ponder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A former public defender in Rochester, NY, Danielle Ponder walked away from her day job to devote herself to songwriting full time in 2018. Her debut album,\u00a0Some of Us Are Brave,\u00a0<\/em>incorporates musical influences ranging from\u00a0\u201990\u2019s East Coast hip-hop, blues, pop, R&B and a little bit of rock to embody her soulful songwriting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ponder\u2019s stage presence is notable in her strength in her powerful voice and storytelling on stage, bringing the audience to laughs in her telling of her backstory \u201cBiggie\u201d, her one sided love affair with a married man.\u00a0Ponder absolutely set the stage for the evening for compelling music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marcus Mumford<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Walking out on stage by himself, with only his guitar, Mumford opened the show with a crowd favorites \u201cAwake My Soul\u201d and \u201cThe Cave\u201d.\u00a0Recanting his day to the audience, in a \u2018dear diary\u2019 sort of way, Mumford welcomed his full band on stage, and promised to play his new album\u00a0Self Titled\u00a0<\/em>in its entirety, with a\u00a0little bit of fun at the end if we made it all the way through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a departure from his previous music, Mumford\u2019s new album speaks of his personal healing journey, taking the audience for an emotional journey of pain and forgiveness, which is the exact reason the album needs to be played in its entirety to understand and appreciate the soul wrenching exploration of one\u2019s experiences.\u00a0And as promised, the encore brought The New Basement Tapes\u2019 \u201cKansas City\u201d to a round of standing applause.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
