Michigan rock band Mac Saturn brought the party to Brighton Music Hall on a chilly Sunday night, joined by Billy Tibbals on the Until The Money Runs Out<\/em> Tour. The eclectic crowd packed the intimate venue, with some dressed in funky 70s outfits for the occasion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Billy Tibbals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

London rocker Billy Tibbals started out the evening with a blast: a balanced mix of early 2000’s brit rock and L.A’s rock & roll edge. The band connected with the crowd immediately, getting compliments on both their music and style. In tune with their sound, the band played a snippet of The Beatles’ “Day Tripper” in between songs, getting even more praise from the audience. The highlight of the set was “Hollywood Baby”, an elegant yet sleazy tune that set the stage perfectly for the rest of the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mac Saturn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The energy in the room was vibrant as Mac Saturn took the stage, as the band slowly took their spots under low lights. Frontman Carson Macc grabbed hold of the audience right away, kicking off an electrifying performance that had everyone in the room dancing. The band’s swagger was palpable, interacting often with the crowd and having them sing along. Guitarist Mike Moody would also take center stage a few times, with impressive solos and plenty of charisma to go with it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the sweet “Ain’t Like You,” to the funky “Diamonds”, the band had the crowd at their feet the entire night, with Macc leading the way. The singer shed layers of clothing, smoothly introduced songs like a preacher, and even sang the rest of the band members’ names to the crowd. The audience reciprocated, with screaming fans hanging off the barricade reaching for them. Other highlights were “Mr. Cadillac” and the bluesy “Law Machine”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This is the most electric room we have ever played”, said Carson Macc, and it felt like it. After an improvised encore, the band made their way to the back of the room to meet fans, bringing the evening to a close.
