The cold venue drew the crowd closer together as they warmed up for the Australian Metalcore band, The Amity Affliction, to make their presence known. Various mixed alternative-looking fans wearing torn skinny jeans, Avenged Sevenfold, All Time Low, Hawthorne Heights and other band shirts, meandered around the venue, searching for a good spot to perch and watch the show; those in the pit were sprayed with cold water by the security in front of the stage, all eagerly waiting for the band to tear up the stage. However, to say that The Amity Affliction tore up the stage was a giant understatement; they conquered the night.<\/p>\n

The mixed music playing a Justin Bieber\/Slipknot mash-up, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry came to a screeching halt, a few members from the crowd let out an exasperated sigh, \u201cFINALLY,\u201d as the lights dimmed and the roar from the fans became deafening. All of the members of The Amity Affliction emerged from the venue\u2019s smoky haze and co-frontman Joel Birch\u2019s deep screams filled the speakers as the band kicked off the set with \u201cPittsburgh.\u201d The fans pressed their bodies against the barricade, singing along during the chorus with co-frontman\/bassist Ahren Stringer. Their time on stage was just beginning as they continued with \u201cGreens Avenue,\u201d \u201cLost & Fading,\u201d and \u201cChasing Ghosts,\u201d filled with sick drum beats provided by Ryan Burt and killer riffs by Dan Brown.<\/p>\n

The circle pits that formed at the beginning of their set, intensified as The Amity Affliction continued \u201cDeath\u2019s Hand,\u201d \u201cThe Weigh Down,\u201d and \u201cNever Alone.\u201d Birch\u2019s screams echoed throughout the venue with fans mouthing along and some belting out with Stringer. Watching as the fans and the band fed off of each other\u2019s energies was truly a sight to see. Unfortunately, it all came to a close as the band ended their set with \u201cOpen Letter\u201d and \u201cDon\u2019t Lean On Me.\u201d

Co-frontman & bass player Ahren Stringer<\/p><\/div>Overall, the energy surging from both the fans and The Amity Affliction was through the roof and the band gave their all on stage.
