I’ll admit I’m not as familiar with Countdown\u00a0<\/em>as I should be. I’m assuming that’s why the tour is playing smaller dates, because playing an album probably draws in less of a crowd than a full greatest hits set. Regardless, it’s Megadeth at Lupo’s. I’m not missing that!<\/p>\n Chris Broderick<\/p><\/div>\n Setlist<\/u> Dave Mustaine<\/p><\/div>—– Just like on Gigantour earlier this year, they played my favorite opening song, “Trust.” After a few more classics, as well as two songs of this year’s\u00a0Th1rt3en<\/em>, they launched right into\u00a0Countdown.<\/em><\/p>\n As this was the first night of the tour, there were quite a few opening night glitches. There were issues with intro tracks cutting out, not playing completely. There were also various sound issues scattered throughout the night.<\/p>\n At one point there was a big fight down on the floor. (I later found out I know the guy on the receiving end). Dave saw this fight going on, and he stopped the show and wouldn’t go into the next song until it was broken up. After security dragged the guy out, they gave the next song another try (this was also a song with intro track glitches).<\/p>\n During a rant later in the show, Dave was obviously unhappy with the way the show had turned out. He made a comment that everything went downhill after the fight, and that we deserved a better show. It’s a shame there were all the issues, because the band was playing great, and Dave sounded awesome.<\/p>\n The crowd seemed to not be that bothered by the issues. This was a crowd that seemed to be full of die-hard fans, most of them loving every note of\u00a0Countdown<\/em>.<\/p>\n After they finished the album, they came out for an encore of “Peace Sells” and “Holy Wars.” It doesn’t get much better than that!<\/p>\n When Megadeth comes around in a small venue, it is a show not to be missed.
