Connecticut natives Hatebreed are back with their seventh album, The Concrete Confessional<\/i>. If you’re a fan of one of the biggest metalcore bands in the world, you’re sure to enjoy this album. If you were hoping for a change in direction, you may find yourself disappointed.<\/p>\n

Hatebreed has never been as tight a band as they are now. This is their third album with the current lineup, Jamey Jasta on vocals, Chris Beattie on bass, Wayne Lozinak and Frank Novinec on guitars, and Matt Byrne on drums, and their fifth album with producer Zeuss.<\/p>\n

This album has a much more political tone than we’ve seen with Hatebreed in the past. The opening track, “A.D.,” is one of my favorites. The song analyzes what the American Dream means today. “Fight fire with fire, you’ll see everyone’s burning.”<\/i> Jasta says of the track, “It’s about all the frustrated feelings that come out when I turn on the news.” Lyrically the song has the sentiment of a 1980’s Dave Mustaine tune. <\/p>\n

With this short album, clocking in at just over a half hour long, with only one track longer than 3 minutes, Hatebreed continues to cement themselves an aggressive force of nature.<\/p>\n
