SnoCore 2015
The Jewel
Manchester, NH
February 7, 2015
SnoCore 2015 has certainly warmed up the cold wintery evenings with its epic lineup of Fit For Rivals, Framing Hanley, Adelitas Way, and Flyleaf. I had the great opportunity to catch them at the intimate venue, The Jewel, in snowy Manchester, NH.
Fit For Rivals
After the locals got the crowd going a bit, the first band to really kick the night off was Fit For Rivals. Fronted by the extremely talented Renee Phoenix, starting the short but sweet set with “Crash,” “Light,” and their current single “Freak Machine.” Their energy unleashed upon the crowd was indescribable as they finished their set with “Novocain” and “Hit Me.”
Framing Hanley
To say the least, the packed crowd was pumped and ready for the next band to take over the stage, Framing Hanley. The mixed chatter from the crowd soon melted into cheers of excitement as the lights dimmed, hinting it was time for Framing Hanley. One by one, the members made their presence known, the last to arrive, frontman Nixon. Without further hesitation, they started their set with “Hear Me Now,” the first single from their current album, The Sum of Who We Are, “Criminal,” and “Back to Go Again.” The crowd raised their horns and the die-hard fans sang along whole-heartedly. Framing Hanley was feeding off of their energy while continuing their set with “Collide,” “Simple Life,” and their epic cover of Lil Wayne’s hit “Lollipop,” ending with “You Stupid Girl.”
Adelitas Way
The night was young and far from over; it was time for Adelitas Way to conquer the stage and reveal what was up their sleeve, which they certainly did. The lights dimmed and the overhead music came to a screeching halt as the introductory music for Adelitas Way took over, quickly ending as guitarist Rob Zakaryan played the intro notes to “The Collapse.” Frontman Rick DeJesus’ powerful pipes took over, blowing the crowd away. They kept the party going with “Dog on a Leash,” one of their unreleased tracks from their upcoming EP, Deserve This, “Filthy Heart,” and “Hurt” from their High School Valedictorian days.
Before the show, I had a chance to sit down with DeJesus and ask a few questions. Check out that interview here.
After playing “Stuck,” they picked the pace back up with another unreleased song, “Deserve This,” followed by “Criticize,” “Sick” and the song that got their name out into the world, “Invincible.” They completely crushed the stage, however there was one more band to end the night on an explosive note: Flyleaf.
Flyleaf
It seemed like an eternity before the venue was enveloped in darkness, excited cheers escaping from the fans as Flyleaf emerged from the shadows. Not a moment was wasted as they began their killer set with two back to back songs from their latest album, Between the Stars, “Set Me on Fire” and “Traitor,” then going back to the self-titled album days with “Cassie.” Front-woman, Kristen May, released a fiery energy upon the crowd, as she pumped them up with her jumping and powerful vocals. They continued their set with “Thread,” “Missing,” “Sober Serenade,” and “Fully Alive.” After playing “Magnetic,” Flyleaf kept going with “All Around Me,” “Platonic, “Head Underwater,” and an incredible cover of Hillsong United’s “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail).” Unfortunately, the night was coming to an end as they topped it all off with “Great Love,” “City Kids,” “Call You Out,” and concluded with one of their classic hits, “I’m So Sick.”
Overall, I was blown away by all of the bands’ performances and how energetic they all were. Be sure to check out future tour dates to see if the Snocore Tour will be coming to a town near you, this is a show you will not want to miss.
