Knox Hamilton will release three remixes of “Washed Up Together,” the first single from their debut full-length The Heights, which will be launched in early 2017 on Prospect Park Records. Remixes from Cory Nelson and Xan Griffin were selected from a collection of 90 different versions of the song, which were submitted to the band as part of a worldwide contest through WAVO that fielded entries from the United States, Germany, Sweden, The UK, Canada, Norway, Columbia, India, Brazil, Russian and others over the course of 30 days.

unnamed-8There’s something about the electric, restless rhythm and the shimmery beat that capture a true timely ethos – never too self-conscious to be catchy, never too pop to forgo serious attention to lyricism. With their locomotive, melodic tunes full of synth breaks and booming choruses would echo out into the rural town – in true Knox Hamilton fashion, it was a meeting of both their roots and their far-reaching artistry which is poised to last a long time.

I took one look at this band and thought there were something totally different. The release is lively and I love the lyrics. From “Be what you want, if it makes you happy!” and “Lost in love, washed up together” its easy, and care-free.
