Greta Van Fleet at Mohegan Sun – October 7, 2022

On their Dreams in Gold tour, Greta Van Fleet had stopped by Mohegan Sun bringing nothing but their best to the stage. Fans were all for it as Robert Finley and Houndmouth opened up the night. On this run of over sixty arenas and venues, Greta Van Fleet had surpassed expectations once again.

Robert Finley

Robert’s musical journey has brought him all over the world ever since he was younger. While he made his second musical debut back in 2016, he started to gain even more recognition on America’s Got Talent (AGT) back in 2019. Releasing his newest project, ‘Sharecropper’s Son’ last year, Robert has successfully gained a new family from the Greta Van Fleet fandom. As Robert and Christy Johnson (Lead Vocalist) had taken the stage, they were immediately greeted in an uproar. Even though this was a shorter set, the band still played some of the crowd favorites such as “Medicine Woman”, “Souled Out On You”, and “Get It While You Can”.

Houndmouth

Hailing from Indiana, the second band opening up the night goes by Houndmouth. Consisting of four bandmates, Houndmouth continued to sustain the audience as they waited for Greta Van Fleet to take the stage. Gaining a few more minutes on stage, the band were able to perform a hearty amount from their newest studio project, “Good For You”. Lead Vocalist Matt Myers, and Guitarist and Vocalist Sam Filiatreau brought a few jokes with them, as they interacted with the fans at the barricade. While their sound is carefully crafted, their homely and inviting energy on stage had the crowd soaring. Ending the night with “Sedona”, their leg of tour with Greta consisted of only a few more shows.

Greta Van Fleet

Currently on their Dream in Gold tour, Greta Van Fleet has been on the road since March (with a few unexpected breaks in between). As we welcomed in Greta to their first show ever played at Mohegan Sun, nearly every seat was filled, and excitement gathered as the curtain dropped. While focusing heavily on their latest full length studio album, the band has been covering “The Battle At Garden’s Gate,” and adding in some of their rotating favorites night by night.

Crafting a night that was filled with feather boas and white roses, fans from around the country gathered to watch the Kiszkas and Danny Wagner continue to make waves on stage. We got to hear “Built By Nations”, “Black Smoke Rising”, and “Safari Song” right off the bat. Playing around 2 hours of stage time, the set flew by and it didn’t go unnoticed just how effortlessly everything fit into place. Whether it was the beautifully done cover of “Rhapsody in Blue” performed by Sam, or the twin bond where a handful of jokes were made on stage, it was a well-rehearsed and alluring night. Harmoniously, the band had the crowd at the palms of their hands all night long.

If you have the chance to catch a show on Greta Van Fleet’s Dreams In Gold tour, we highly suggest you go!
