Walker McGuire
Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun

Walker McGuire is a country duo, one half Texan, the other half from Kansas, finding each other in Nashville, TN. Jordan’s Texas roots make him “super country” while, Johnny is more of a rock guy, being raised on Tom Petty and John Prine. Mix them together, and you have a great duo that can cover a lot of ground.
Also.. if you like whiskey, pizza, dogs and songs, you can be their friend. I happen to like 3 out of 4 of those things. I also like hard workers, vintage clothes from the 90s (yes, the 90s was that long ago) and punctual shows.
Walker McGuire played the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut on Thursday night to a small but excited crowd. They were late arriving, after 20 hours of travel time, with some horrible traffic, but the show still started right on time. Even after all that travel time, they still managed to bring the party with them. As Jordan and Johnny emerge, so does a baseball cap, early 90’s Alan Jackson shirt, red solo cup, and a faded green camo shirt. Just a couple of normal guys, who happen to sing on stage.
They played their own modern day country songs, and even put their own spin on a Tom Petty song. These boys were great, and the back up band was also fantastic. They weren’t anything flashy, but provided great sound and showmanship.
Walker McGuire is certainly making there way up the charts, and into fans ears. They were too busy for a free room at the casino, heading from CT to New Jersey for a Friday night gig, and then back to MA for Saturday!
Be sure to follow them on Facebook, and catch them when they are in your neck of the woods.
