3 Doors Down
Collective Soul

August 16, 2018

The 90’s are alive and well. Heck, even the 2000’s are.

Look at the bands currently touring! In the last few weeks we’ve seen bands like Evanescence, Weezer, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Counting Crows and Live come through New England. On Thursday, August 16th we were lucky enough to catch Collective Soul and 3 Doors Down at Mohegan Sun. A little more nostalgia for the books.

Collective Soul

Collective Soul rocked the stage first, and they really rocked it. This band started out in 1993, and 25 years later, they are still going strong. This Atlanta, Georgia based band consists of lead vocalist Ed Roland, rhythm guitarist Dean Roland, bassist Will Turpin, drummer Johnny Rabb and lead guitarist Jesse Triplett. The setlist was full of more hits than I remembered them having, and new songs off an upcoming release. This band is certainly looking forward to another 25 more years doing what they love.

Three Doors Down

3 Doors Down came running out with fake smoke on their screens, fits clenched, and ready to rock. This American Rock band from Escapawpa, Mississippi, currently consisting of Brad Arnold, Chris Henderson, Greg Upchurch, Chet Roberts and Justin Bitonen, started in 1996, with their first hit, “Kryptonite,” topping the charts in 2000. They have not slowed a bit, as they played one hit after another. Even with a few new faces in the band over the years, they sounded amazing and the fans LOVED them! Songs like “It’s Not My Time” and “Loser” got the crowd hyped up, but when they played the previously mentioned “Kryptonite,” they went absolutely wild!
