Fitz and the Tantrums and Andy Grammer in Boston, MA – August 6, 2022

A fun summer show was a co-headlining bill of singer-songwriter Andy Grammer and indie rock outfit Fitz and the Tantrums. The energetic R&B crossover country artist Breland opened the show.

Breland

Breland took the stage, he did not have much of a stage show per se but he didn’t need any. He was charming and appreciated Boston for always welcoming him. He even told a fun story about being recognized around the city. There was also a little bit of faith themes in his music, overall he was a pleasant opener.

Andy Grammer

Andy Grammer took the stage and had more of a show to him, as it was a co-headlining tour, fans were there as much for him as they were for Fitz and the Tantrums. Grammer’s stage set up was simple, a platform behind him with a comfortable looking couch next to a keyboard. His blend of power/pop and indie music was very family friendly.

Fitz & the Tantrums

Founded in 2008, Fitz & the Tantrums front members are Michael Fitzpatrick and Noelle Scaggs who have brilliant chemistry together. The other members have been in the band just as long except the bass player who joined in 2010. They are a tight band musically and all have great energy on stage.

Back in 2011 they first hit the scene with a retro rock song “MoneyGrabber” that is an instant ear worm. They returned with another ear worm that you can still hear in stadiums in 2022 “HandClap.” Their new single “Sway” also came out earlier this year.

Their set and show was a fun way to start August and the last full month of summer. It was a great night at the seaport and all the acts were fun to see.
