Interview with Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge – New Album Pawns & Kings Releases October 14, 2022

Acclaimed rockers Alter Bridge tomorrow release their seventh studio album, Pawns & Kings. We’ve had a chance to listen to it, and Alter Bridge fans are not going to be disappointed! Myles, Mark, Brian and Scott have crafted ten tracks that are sure to delight. One of the tracks already released off the album, “Sin After Sin,” has a slow, crushing, heavy riff, that is matched with a melodic chorus, taking listeners on a dynamic journey. The album has many epic adventures, with three songs over six minutes long, and specifically “Fable of the Silent Son,” which is the longest song Alter Bridge has ever recorded – nearly eight and a half minutes long!

On the eve of the album’s release, we had a chance to talk with guitarist Mark Tremonti. We discussed the writing process of the new album, his Tremonti Sings Sinatra album, released earlier this year, his love of Paul Reed Smith guitars, how he became friends with Wolfgang Van Halen, and the state of his relationship with Creed frontman Scott Stapp. Mark mentioned that as soon as he finishes recording an album, he starts writing the next one, so we may have even talked about what is coming next for him! Check out the full interview below.

Alter Bridge heads to Europe in November for their first tour since February of 2020, with a North American run to follow in early 2023. Full details can be found at alterbridge.com!
