Ghost Town
I finally ventured out of the Monster Energy stages and found my way to the Cyclops stage. I had done a preview of Ghost Town and there was NO way I was going to miss them.
Ghost Town is a electronic rock band from Hollywood, CA. I really liked their sound. They were a young, fun band, with its members all in there early 20’s. They have songs called “I’m weird”, “Zombie Girl” and “Game freak”. Even though there lyrics were geared towards a younger audience, I still enjoyed the overall feel.
I was happy to see that the Cyclops stage ran next to the Poseidon stage and ran like there other stages I had been too. When one band was done, they started to break down that side and the next band started immediately on the opposite side. On a day as busy as this, not waiting made things that much easier, and that much more exciting.

Kevin “Ghost” McCullough took the stage and started singing behind a coffin with an adorable ghost on it. I know adorable isn’t quite the normal rock terminology, but it was. They also had a flag with matching ghosts on the stage. I have never noticed as many band flags as I did during these performances.
Alix “Monster” Koochaki and Manny “MannyTheDrummer” Dominick each played their parts well. Alix blended a bit into the scenery with his black hat and shirt. His full beard helping to melt him into the background. Manny was fun and inviting with his Hawaiian lei, but stationary since he was stuck to his drums. This really allowed or put pressure on Kevin to engage the crowd.
There was a point in the show that Kevin knelt down and I was standing in front of him taking pictures. Once I moved he leapt from the stage and into the crowd.
The crowd held him up while he preached about some of the same positive messages of the day. About being understood and not being alone. This young generation certainly got quite the pep talk during this event. It was great to see more positivity coming from their role models.
I was really glad I was able to catch Ghost Town’s set. They were the first band I had done my homework on and were able to see. Finally all my pre-planning paid off!
