Happy New Year everybody! 2013 was a great year for us, here’s looking forward to 2014!
From Boston, MA, Draw the Line is the only Aerosmith tribute band endorsed by Aerosmith themselves. They’ve been around more than 20 years, and have played all over the world, and have made numerous radio and TV appearances, including an upcoming performance on the March 3 episode of AXS.TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands.”

Neill Byrnes as Steven Tyler
Lead singer Neill Byrnes does a great job imitating the sights and sounds of Steven Tyler, while being backed up by a solid group of musicians giving the most authentic Aerosmith performance around!
Their set included all the obvious hits, such as “Walk this Way,” “Dream On,” “Sweet Emotion,” and “Dude Looks Like a Lady,” but they also play plenty of deep cuts, many of which Aerosmith rarely or never plays live themselves! Some of the gems in tonight’s show were “S.O.S. (Too Bad).,” “Rats in the Cellar,” “Lightning Strikes,” “Lord of the Thighs,” and my personal favorite, “Kings and Queens” Whatever your favorite era of Aerosmith is, they’re sure to play something for everyone.
Disclaimer: I spent four years (2005-2009) playing bass full time with Draw the Line, and have filled in occasionally over the last two years, for a grand total of over 300 performances. I went to this show knowing there were a handful of songs in the setlist that Draw the Line hadn’t played in several years, that were new to this lineup, and I was excited to hear them. Off of Pump, they played “The Otherside,” which is one of my favorite tunes of late 80’s/early 90’s Aerosmith, and it did not disappoint. Another song being dusted off was “Baby Please Don’t Go,” off of the 2004 blues cover album Honkin’ on Bobo.

The Toxic Twins
The song I was most interested to see them play was “Amazing,” which in the 11 years I’ve been seeing or playing with Draw the Line, I’ve never known them to play. I was very impressed by it, with Neill hitting all the tough notes, and lead guitarist Gino Caira playing a great solo at the end of the song.
If you’re an Aerosmith fan, Draw the Line is a band you don’t want to miss when they come to your area. Be sure to check them out on AXS.TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” on March 3!
