Lamb of God in Boston, MA – September 21, 2022

Metal titans Lamb of God took the MGM Music Hall by storm on the Boston stop of the Omens Tour, joined by Killswitch Engage, Baroness and Suicide Silence. The evening would start early as fans made their way to the recently opened venue, right in between Fenway Park and House of Blues. The large stage was perfect for the scale of the tour, kicked off by Suicide Silence on select dates.

Baroness

Hailing from Georgia, heavy metal band Baroness would take the stage with a blast, with the powerful “The Sweetest Curse”. The band captured the audience’s attention immediately with their larger than life energy and charging melodies. Lead by singer John Dyer Baizley, Baroness made sure to let fans know how grateful they were to be a part of this tour, as they burned through hits from their entire discography. The short set satisfied long time fans, and gave new followers a taste of the unique style Baroness is known for.

Killswitch Engage

Next up was hometown metalcore band Killswitch Engage, bringing the intensity up another notch, and fans went wild as they erupted into “Strength Of The Mind”. The band would focus on their latest release, 2019’s Atonement, as well as fan favorites “My Curse” and “In Due Time”. The performance was hectic and full of energy, encouraging circle pits as large as the room allowed, and even guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz ran off the stage and continued to play on his way to the bar, where he took a quick shot and greeted fans before jumping back on stage.

Killswitch Engage gave fans more memorable moments, from the iconic cover of Ronnie James Dio’s classic “Holy Diver”, to the closer “The Signal Fire”, joined by former vocalist Howard jones on stage. Fans were excited to see the two frontmen perform side by side, to wrap up an unforgettable set.

Lamb of God

It was now time for Lamb Of God to take over. The band wasted no time, kicking the show off with beloved hit “Memento Mori”, driving fans wild immediately. The next song would trigger the first round of pyro, as singer Randy Blythe introduced “Walk With Me in Hell”. Several smaller mosh pits formed continuously, as crowd surfers flooded the front of the stage, with even young kids joining in. The band would also share a couple tracks from their latest release, Omens, but focused mostly on fan favorites.

The explosive performance also had room for Blythe to share stories, both about the music and his personal experiences, all in good humor. The band ramped up the heat towards the end, with monster hits “Vigil”, “Laid to Rest” and “Redneck”, wrapping up an evening full of fiery energy, both on stage and amongst the crowd. Lamb Of God’s raw power still manages to rile up the audience, and the Omens Tour brings together some of today’s metal’s heaviest hitters for the wildest ride.
