The Goo Goo Dolls in Boston – August 16th, 2022

Over the summer, The Goo Goo Dolls hit the road in support of their 14th album, Chaos in Bloom. Joining them on the tour were their friends in Blue October. The duo came to Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston for a great night of music.

Blue October

Blue October opened the night and played a mix of post grunge/alt rock. They have 11 albums of their own and played songs from 5 of them. They started their career in the mid 90’s, but are well known for their 2006 album Foiled.

Goo Goo Dolls

For the past 25+ years, Johnny Rzeznik and The Goo Goo Dolls have been a staple in mainstream pop-rock radio. Their set consisted of 20+ songs that mixed in new songs with some old songs, and a few classics like “Name,” and “Iris,” that are very much sing-a-long worthy. They also played faster pace garage rock songs like “Lucky Star,” from 1993’s Superstar Carwash, sung by bass player fellow founding member Robby Takac.
