The Plot in You in Providence – September 5, 2025

Ahead of their tour later this month opening for Bring me the Horizon, The Plot in You announced a quick run of US tour dates. They’ve been busy on the road lately, so this jaunt is hitting some less-often visited cities, and we were fortunate enough to have the tour kick off right here in Providence, at the Strand. Joining them were Northlane, Invent Animate, and Windwaker.

Windwaker

Windwaker made the trek from Melbourne, Australia to join this tour. They kicked the night off strong, with a setlist that was almost entirely off of last year’s album, HYPERVIOLENCE. As they finished their set with “Tabula Rasa,” the band encouraged the crowd to participate in a wall of death, bringing the energy of the crowd up even higher.

Invent Animate

From the shadows of the dimly lit, haze-filled stage, Invent Animate appeared, all dressed in white, playing white instruments. The Texas band played a set entirely consisting of tracks from 2013’s “Heavener.”

Northlane

The energy continued to grow as Northlane, also from Australia, took the stage. A constant stream of crowd surfers made their way across the barricade, as they powered through ten crushing songs.

The Plot in You

As the stage was prepared for The Plot in You, a curtain lowered, obscuring the stage. A member of the crew snuck out and lit incense on the band’s mic stands, to help set the mood. Occasionally fog would leak out from behind the curtain. Just before the band emerged, the curtain lifted, and a massive layer of fog rolled out across the audience. A set packed with anthems began with “Spare Me,” the audience singing along to every word. The band An evening full of crowd surfers did not letup, as a continuous wave of surfers continued through the band’s entire set. The band began the show all on a platform at the back of the stage, as frontman Landon Tewers was the lone member at the front of the stage. While their stage setup was very intricate and contained a lot of lights, it was mostly backlit, with Tewers often in the shadows at the front.

After a song or two, bassist Ethan Yoder and guitarist Josh Childress soon joined him at the front of the stage. The band tonight debuted a new song, “Silence,” and while no mention was made of a release, it sent fans wild with excitement. Rhode Island metalcore fans felt very lucky to have the band come to town, and on top of it debut a new track in the Ocean State!
