Creed in Providence – August 27, 2025

After reuniting two years ago, Creed has been playing sold out audiences nationwide. Following on that success, they announced a new run of dates for the Summer of ’99 tour, this time stopping in Providence at The Amica Mutual Pavilion. Joining them this time around were Daughtry and Mammoth.

Mammoth

Mammoth, fronted by Wolfgang Van Halen (son of legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen), kicked off the night. Their quick set featured two songs off each of their albums, including two off their forthcoming third album, The End. Some fans were surprised not to hear their breakthrough single, “Distance,” but it’s certainly hard to pick and choose songs when you have such a short set. The fans certainly started loosening up right away with the energy that the band brought.

Daughtry

American Idol contestant-turned rockstar Chris Daughtry was up next. Showing off his arms that he recently got fully blackedout with tattoos, Daughtry’s voice was as powerful as ever. Hits like “It’s not Over,” and a solo acoustic version of “Home,” went over great with the crowd, as well as a cover of Journey’s “Separate Ways.”

Creed

Creed hit the stage with an explosive performance of “Bullets,” fire erupting all around the reunited Scott Stapp, Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall, Scott Phillips, as well as touring guitarist Eric Friedman. Many fans here missed the chance to see the band last summer, and so getting the opportunity to see the band after so many years was a big treat.

As the set went on, you realize just how many hits the band had. “My Own Prison,” “What If,” and “One” were all hilights, and the energy felt during the one-two combination of “With Arms Wide Open” and “Higher” near the end of the night was unmatched. While after these two huge songs, many people were seen leaving before the encore to beat traffic, those who did stick around where rewarded with “One Last Breath” and “My Sacrifice.”

While this reunion for so many years seemed it would never happen, it now feels like they have formed new bonds between them, and it will be interesting to see what happens next with the band.
