Mastodon
Clutch
House of Blues Boston
May 17, 2015
The Missing Link Tour brings Mastodon and Clutch together on a co-headlining tour. Both bands played full sets, and spent the tour alternating who played first. For their stop in Boston, Mastodon closed out the night, while Swedish rock band Graveyard opened the show.
Graveyard
While Graveyard was performing, I felt like I had stepped into the 70s. They have a very early psychedelic rock sound, showing influences of bands like Iron Butterfly, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath.

Mastodon
Mastodon is a band I’ve seen a handful of times, but has never really hooked me in. Most of those shows have been festival appearances, and this was my first time seeing them in a headlining (or co-headlining) role. I thought they sounded solid tonight, and put on a great performance. Mastodon is definitely a show that deserves to be seen when it’s not daylight. This nearly sold-out crowd loved the show, which included more than half of 2014’s One More ‘Round the Sun in the set.
