Evanescence and Lindsey Stirling at Xfinity Center, Mansfield, MA – July 18, 2018
Evanescence and Lindsey Stirling are on a co-headlining tour hitting amphitheaters across America. An to top it all off, full orchestra joins them both for their performances! The latest single, “Hi-Lo,” off of Evanescence’s latest album, Synthesis, features a violin solo from Stirling, so the pair touring together makes perfect sense.
Lindsey Stirling
After the orchestra took the stage a tuned up, Lindsey Stirling’s show came first. Stirling puts on a violin performance like you’ve never seen, that is, unless you saw her perform on America’s Got Talent. She plays the violin flawlessly as she runs, kicks, and jumps across the stage. As if that wasn’t enough, in addition to the orchestra, there were multiple backup dancers, and many, many costume changes throughout the show.
Evanescence singer Amy Lee joined Lindsey for a performance of “Shatter Me,” a song which originally featured Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale on vocals. It’s great to see two acts touring together that seem to really enjoy each other’s company, and take part in each other’s show.

Evanescence
After a brief intermission, the orchestra returned to the stage. Once they started playing, Amy Lee entered the stage and sat down at a grand piano. The more symphonic sound that Evanescence has been moving to recently really lends itself to having an orchestra backing them up. While their show did not have the energy that Lindsey’s performance had, there’s no denying the power of Amy’s voice, and how amazing everything sounded.
The crowd really got excited part way through the set, when they played their debut song, “Bring me to Life.” With Synthesis, they reimagined the song to be much more orchestral, and much less nu-metal. This new version is what they played tonight, and the crowd loved it just as much as the original.
Lindsey Stirling joined Evanescence on stage for their performance of “Hi-Lo,” as well as during the encore for a mashup of Ozzy’s “No More Tears,” and Sia’s “Alive.”
