What do you get when you combine extreme metal, hardcore punk, aggressive vocals, screaming, distorted guitars and killer lyrics?
For those not familiar, Asking Alexandria is a metal core band from York, North Yorkshire, England. The groups line up has gone through some changes over the years, but currently features Ben Bruce, Danny Worsnop, James Cassells, Cameron Liddell, and Sam Bettley.
Being an opening band can be a challenge, with half empty seats and a crowd that may not be there to see you. Asking Alexandria, didn’t let this stop them. After all, they have been doing this since Ben Bruce formed the group in 2006.
The setlist went from some of their most heavy, screamo songs, like “Into the Fire” and “Run Free”, into emotional songs like “Alone in a Room.” The band was engaging, making eye contact and drawing the crowd in. Danny used the full catwalk and B-stage to reach everyone in the audience, even though the stage lights didn’t follow him.
Need another reason to see this band? They have great British accents.
