Preview: Ghost Headlines Xfinity Center for the first time!
Tomorrow, August 19, the might Ghost will be headlining the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA for the first time! Ghost is no stranger to the pages of The Entertainment Outlet. We first saw them back in 2013, as they toured in support of their second album, Infestissumam. At the time, the band was fronted by Papa Emeritus II. We saw Papa Emeritus III a few times, and now they’ve progress to their current frontman, Papa Emeritus IV.
Touring on what could possibly be the final leg in support of their fifth studio album, Impera, tomorrow will be the biggest Ghost ritual New England has ever seen. That show in 2013? That was at The Royale, in Boston, with a capacity of about 1,200 people. We’ve watched the band grow through years. They Avenged Sevenfold at the TD Garden, before coming back around to headline the 2,200 capacity House of Blues. This won’t be Ghost’s first time playing at Xfinity Center, as they previously opened for Iron Maiden there, back in 2017. Last year we saw the band co-headlining arenas in the area for the first time, when they came to Worcester with Volbeat.
That all leads up to tomorrow’s show. With a capacity of nearly 20,000 people, Xfinity Center is the largest non-stadium music venue in Massachusetts. Ticket sales are looking good, and this is going to be a night to remember. Joining them at the show will be fellow Swedish titans, Amon Amarth. A very different take on heavy metal, but a powerhouse band in their own right.
A few tickets are remaining, so don’t miss out! The tour wraps up mid-September in Phoenix. We’ve got the poster below featuring the rest of the tour dates!
