Asking Alexandria in Hampton Beach, NH – April 24, 2025

Every now and then, the famous Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom books a rock show where fans get lined up early on Ocean Blvd, around the corner and down F St, hoping to get a spot on the barricade, anticipating a special night. On a cool spring Thursday night, Asking Alexandria, From Ashes To New, Royale Lynn, and What Lies Below did just this by bringing the heat inside the Casino Ballroom.

The 2,200-person capacity Casino Ballroom first opened its doors on July 4, 1899. A few notable acts that have played here include The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and U2.

What Lies Below

What Lies Below opened the night bringing Pennsylvania metalcore to Hampton Beach. Andrew Watson (lead vocals) grabs the attention of the audience from their opening song thus having an impressive crowd for an opening band. What Lies Below has produced two EPs to date; Destinations in 2021 and Darker Colors in 2023.

Royale Lynn

Fans in attendance were singing the words to her heaviest song to date and first single “Greed” off debut album Black Magic, which hasn’t even been released as of the time of this show yet. The highly anticipated album is set to be released on 6/27/2025. “Greed” has been receiving lots of air time lately on Sirius XM Octane. “Death Wish” ft. Danny Worsnop (lead singer of Asking Alexandria) goes out to the first responders who Royale Lynn recognized in the audience. “Six Feet Deep” is the song, she said, that changed her life. Royale Lynn is using her platform writing songs about her personal struggles with mental health.

From Ashes To New

From Ashes To New were welcomed to the stage with a packed Casino Ballroom. The energy was intense when they opened their set with “Nightmare” from their most recent and fourth album Blackout. Since 2017, the tandem of founding member Matt Brandyberry and Danny Case’s vocals blended together perfectly throughout their 10-song set. This display was highlighted in From Ashes To New’s biggest hit to date “Barely Breathing.” As a fan of From Ashes To New and being able to see them live for the first time, it was no surprise that Matt and Danny could “see so many familiar faces” as they said, “at the family reunion.” From Ashes To New continues to gain more fans at every show they play. Look for a headline tour from them very soon.

Asking Alexandria

Asking Alexandria’s frontman Danny Worsnop took the stage completely dressed from head to toe in black. You could barely see his blue eyes under his baseball hat when Asking Alexandria opened their set with “Eve” from their 2017 self-titled album. Danny said “I was told it was going to be cold inside here tonight, this might not have been the best choice.” (discussing his outfit). A highlight during Asking Alexandria’s set was when Danny requested a ‘Wall of Death’ by using only his arms to split the crowd into two groups and continue into a ‘circle pit.’ Danny reminded those in attendance that “we are here as one tonight.” With 9 studio albums and over 40 singles to date, Asking Alexandria are a force to be reckoned with and continue to keep the music scene on notice.
